Therapeutic Pilates Seminars

Theodore Karkalakos successfully graduated from Athens University of Applied Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy in September 2012. His interest in Pilates, started from the beginning of his internship. At the same time, he began his first educational program on Classical Pilates.

He realized that the Classical style of Pilates faces some difficulties in treating efficiently patients, thus he did a course on Rehabilitation Pilates by Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute in London (2015 - 2017). He continued his training in the field of Manual Therapy by the Association of Manipulative Physiotherapists of Greece (Recognised by IFOMPT). Finally in 2019 he successfully completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy.

His interest in therapeutic exercise led him to complete the Medical Training Therapy (MTT) course by International Academy of Medical Education (IAME), the Fascial Fitness Program and Yoga. His need for a deeper knowledge of the human body, pushed him to attend seminars of Clinical Anatomy, Visceral Manipulation (by the Barral Institute), Fascial Manipulation (by the Stecco Institute), human movement analysis, red flags and serious pathology seminars etc.

One of his great professional steps was his contribution to the creation of a new method of assessing and treating patients called ' Combined Therapeutic Techniques'. In recent years, he and his wife have their own clinical practice 'Physio and Pilates Therapy' in Athens as well as teaching Therapeutic Pilates Courses in several cities in Greece. He teaches Pilates that is directed to the therapeutic and scientific approach to pathologies, based on the clinical reasoning and the detailed physical assessment.
